Abstract
To clarify the stability of the material slope controlled by oblique faults, taking a material yard containing two oblique faults in the Water Diversion Project from Three Gorges Reservoir to Hanjiang River as an example, the deformation and stability characteristics of the rock slope of the material yard in the graded mining process were analyzed by using the limit equilibrium method and the numerical simulation method. The results showed that: ① For the material yard slope containing oblique faults, the three-dimensional limit equilibrium method and the three-dimensional numerical simulation method were more suitable for the stability evaluation.② When the quarry mining crossed the oblique fault, the main controlling factor affecting the instability and slip of the quarry slope changed from the strength parameter of the rock mass itself to the fault.③ In the later stage of quarry mining, the f1 fault would play a decisive role in the stability of the quarry slope, and the activity of the f1 fault should be monitored in real time. The research results can provide a reference for the stability analysis of similar material yard slopes containing oblique faults.
